ClearShip helps Shopify merchants review product customs data, generate audit-ready HTS/CN8 candidates, and write confirmed information back to Shopify. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Information we collect / 我们收集的信息
- Shop information: shop domain, plan, subscription status, member role, and app installation status.
- Product information: product titles, descriptions, images, product type, vendor, tags, SKUs, variants, inventory item IDs, HS/HTS/CN8 candidates, origin country, and writeback status.
- Usage information: sync history, classification generation count, confirmation actions, audit logs, and feature usage needed for billing and permission control.
- Support information: messages, email address, and context you provide when requesting help.
我们只收集运行 ClearShip 所需的店铺、商品、使用记录和支持信息。我们不会收集 Shopify 买家的支付卡信息。
2. How we use information / 信息用途
- Sync Shopify products and identify missing customs fields.
- Generate candidate HS/HTS/CN8 codes with official tariff references, legal notes, and ruling references where available.
- Support human confirmation workflows and write confirmed data back to Shopify when you choose to do so.
- Manage subscriptions, product limits, feature permissions, security, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- Improve retrieval quality, rules, and product experience using aggregated or merchant-authorized data.
3. AI and official evidence / AI 与官方证据
ClearShip may use AI to extract product attributes and reason over a narrow set of retrieved candidates. AI output is treated as a candidate recommendation, not a final legal or customs determination. Merchants remain responsible for reviewing and confirming codes before use.

4. Data sharing / 数据共享
- Shopify: to authenticate the app, sync products, process billing, and write confirmed product customs fields when authorized.
- Infrastructure providers: to host the application, database, logs, and backups.
- AI or retrieval providers: only where needed to provide classification assistance, and subject to applicable provider controls.
- Legal or compliance requests: when required by law or necessary to protect ClearShip, merchants, or the service.
我们不会出售商家的商品数据或店铺数据。
5. Data retention and deletion / 数据保留与删除
We retain merchant data while the app is installed and for a reasonable period afterward for security, billing, audit, backup, and legal purposes. If you uninstall ClearShip or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize merchant data unless retention is required for legitimate business, security, or legal reasons.
卸载应用或提出删除请求后,我们会删除或匿名化相关店铺数据,除非为了账务、安全、备份或法律原因需要保留。
6. Security / 安全
We use access controls, Shopify authentication, database permissions, and operational safeguards to protect merchant data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep access limited to what is needed to operate ClearShip.
